Willamette Valley Model Railroad & Operating Museum (WVMRM)

The WVMRM supports life-long learning and community involvement through activities, to generate interest in railroad history, fundraising and a sense of camaraderie among its members and visitors.

WVMRM became a “Partner Museum” at Powerland Heritage Park in 1999. Currently, we operate the Powerland Heritage Park Country Store as one of our revenue sources. It is open during major events that are scheduled on campus. We also host a train show every year at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Rickreall on the first Saturday of December.

Our museum is located near the entrance of Powerland, a replica of a Southern Pacific Station No. 23. The theme is “Oregon’s Riches Ride the Rails” with a focus on the Southern Pacific Siskiyou line starting at Tunnel 13 near Siskiyou, Oregon, the site of the “last great train robbery” in the West (which occured on Oct. 11, 1923), ending in Eugene, the Oregon Electric Railway line termination. The time frame of the operating HO model railroad layout is 1930’s - 1965, the transition era from steam to diesel. We are looking for members that share our goals and are not worried about working hard to achieve success.
