Branch 15 Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association (EDGE&TA)
The Wolf Iron Works Museum is a complete early period line shaft fabrication shop which was used to manufacture drag saws. In 2007, Branch 15 had the opportunity to acquire the former “Wolf Iron Works” of Portland, Oregon. This flat belt driven line shaft production shop, opened in 1925, and produced drag saws, the predecessor to the chain saw in the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s. The shop was started as a garage operation by A. Kellog DeWitt. DeWitt learned about fabricating drag saws while working at Vaughn, an established Oregon manufacturer of that period. In 2010 we began with pouring the foundation for the museum and was completed in 2016 when we held our grand opening. Our museum has turned the artifacts of the original shop into living history. Branch 15 is one of the charter organizations at Antique Powerland that began in May 1971. We are one of the many branches of the Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association spread across the USA. Branch 15 is organized exclusively for educational, scientific and recreational purposes in conjunction with the preservation, collection, exchange and public display of antique gas engines and tractor equipment. The organization has no paid officers and depends solely on volunteers from the membership. We encourage both new and current members to volunteer to assist on committees to retain enthusiasm, growth and stability of the organization.
